From Snowy Driveways to Top Gun Back Blades
In 2004, amidst Michigan’s snowiest seasons, Jason began crafting snow plow blades in his spare time. He began like many others, plowing snow to make some extra cash. But with his engineering mind and background in metal working, it didn’t take him long to figure out there were way better ways to push snow and earn more. Armed with a back blade, he was soon conquering snow-covered driveways faster than ever. But being the perfectionist he is, he knew he could make that back blade even better.
Michigan’s tough winters were the perfect testing ground for Jason’s back blades. After a few seasons of tweaking and refining, he had built the “bullet proof” back blade. This thing was a game-changer, suddenly unlocking double the efficiency of an ordinary blade! Soon enough, friends and neighbors wanted in on the action.
Enter Rob, the keystone to the next chapter in the Short Iron journey. While Jason was the mastermind behind the blades, Rob got involved as the guy with the business know-how. He knew process development, marketing, and the ins and outs of running a company. With Rob’s insight and resources, things started to shift in 2023. The vision wasn’t just about building great snow equipment anymore; it was about changing the snow removal game.
Together, they had a simple philosophy: a rising tide lifts all boats. With Jason’s genius designs and Rob’s business mind, they’re on a mission to help every snow management business thrive. At Top Gun Back Blades, we’re not just selling equipment. We’re building a community, sharing knowledge, and ensuring everyone has the right tools to succeed.
